Mighty to Save Even in a Public School

Mighty To Save
Everyone needs compassion,
Love that's never failing;
Let mercy fall on me.
Everyone needs forgiveness,
The kindness of a Saviour;
The Hope of nations.
As a high school English teacher I hear excuses everyday, all day long. Students are much more creative than the classic "my dog ate my homework." I am too quick to assume that their excuses are fabricated and that their need is not real. God, help me to show compassion to each and every student you have trusted me with. They are your creation. Help me to love them as such.
Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,Jesus conquered the grave.
Jesus, you are mighty to save even in a public school where I am unable to preach your truth directly. Help me to love with a love that is never ending so that my students will see you through me, even if they can't put a name to the hope that is within me.
So take me as You find me,
All my fears and failures,
Fill my life again.
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in,
Now I surrender.
I will fail more than I succeed, still you give me life and breath in you each new day. Help me to follow you in everything, including my classroom. I know that if I surrender to you, you will use my life for your glory. I believe and trust in your word.
Shine your light and let the whole world see,
We're singing for the glory of the risen King...Jesus
May everyone see your glory through my life whether you choose to lead me into, through, or out of a valley.
